I had an amazing experience here! I was traveling solo from America for a friend’s wedding, and randomly selected Serafino to stay for the Maclaren Vale wedding.
The grounds were beautiful, quaint, and so peaceful. EXACTLY what I needed. I didn’t spend much time in the room, but it was large and had all the necessary amenities. I was a big fan of having both a front and back door, with patio furniture available for each room to enjoy the scenery.
My favorite part was the winery. I went in for a quick tasting and to read my book to kill a time before the wedding. I was met by your employee who, upon learning that I was alone, had me sit at the counter to give me company. He was very attentive, friendly, and so knowledgeable about the wines.
As a solo traveler, I expected to be alone. Instead, I got to enjoy a great conversation with an interesting person. Not to mention, the wines were delicious!
We got a package deal for my son's 21st birthday, unfortunately due to changes in circumstances we needed to change the date of his stay. The lady at the front desk was so helpful and accommodating with this. My son was was very pleased with the service at the cellar door and stated that the regional platter was awesome. The room was nice and spacious. The only complaint I have is that on the booking details, it said do not contact my son prior to his stay, message his dad only because it was a suprise for his birthday, we had told him only about the tasting but not the room, sadly he received a message the day before telling him about the room, so the suprise was ruined . Over all this is a lovely place to stay.
Dinner was beautiful! The service was super nice, and it felt like they really cared about whether we liked our meals. You could tell they were keen on making sure we had a good time. It made the whole dining experience lovely.
We had a lovely dinner here. The service was friendly and impeccable, really adding to the entire experience. We enjoyed the food and the portions were generous. The steak and the duck were really well cooked. The wines we had with dinner matched perfectly.
We stayed here recently and found it to be a great location for checking out the location of McLaren Vale/Willunga.
Rooms at Serafino are large and in general a quiet area. We enjoyed sitting outside having a drink with cheese and crackers before retiring for the evening.
I didn't try the wine but the accommodation was enough. The room and in particular the bathroom was old and in average condition at best. The toilet was probably 30 years old and well past its use by date. There was no shower curtain so water goes everywhere, there was no shelving in the bathroom to put anything. Might want to think about at least changing the washes so less dripping. Location was good.
Lovely, relaxing grounds, large room with big bathroom and plenty of storage space. We stayed for three nights and we will stay again should we go back to McLaren Vale.|Quiet and clean. Place is a little old-fashioned but still …
